North Dakota- Republican Kevin Cramer has won reelection to his second term in the U.S. Senate, defeating Democratic challenger Katrina Christiansen.
Cramer, 63, is a former 3 term Congressman before winning election to the Senate in 2018, defeating incumbent Heidi Heitkamp in an extremely tight race. His victory further solidifies the Republican Party's dominance in North Dakota, which has consistently supported Republican candidates in recent decades.
Christiansen, 42, is an Agricultural Professor at the University of Jamestown and first ran for the Senate in 2022 losing to Senator John Hoeven. She ran a far more competitive campaign this year both in fundraising and total voters gained, going from just under 25% of the vote 2 years ago to some 30% this year.
Cramer will look ahead to another term in the senate that will flip into Republican control following tonights election. While this race was called early, expect many, including the Presidency, to last late into the night if not the coming days before a winner is determined.
