NARRATIVE: A 2000 Kenworth semi was northbound on Highway 52 near mile marker 40
when it approached a construction zone. A flagger for the construction zone had northbound
traffic stopped at the time. The Kenworth failed to stop for traffic and struck the rear end of a
1996 Freightliner semi that was waiting for the flagger to allow traffic to proceed. The driver
of the Kenworth, Victor Moreno, sustained serious life threatening injuries and was
transported via ambulance to Trinity Health Kenmare Hospital before being later transported
to Trinity Health Minot. The driver of the Freightliner, Ronald Dignan, was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
