Minot, N.D. — Mark Jantzer has been elected Mayor of Minot, earning 2,351 votes in Tuesday’s special election, according to unofficial results released by the City of Minot. The election was called in response to a citizen-led petition to fill the remainder of the mayoral term through June 2026.
Jantzer, a longtime public servant and former Minot City Council member, secured a decisive victory over three other candidates. Rob Fuller received 1,430 votes, Paul Pitner garnered 1,398, and Josiah Roise received 324. A total of 5,516 voters turned out for the election.
“I'm very grateful to the good voter turnout and the good citizens of Minot that heard my message and elected me,” Jantzer told The Dakotan following the results. “I will get to work and the best job I possibly can to serve the citizens.”
These results remain unofficial until the Canvassing Board meets to certify the election.
This special election followed a citizen petition calling for voters to decide who should complete the remainder of the term vacated earlier this year. The next regularly scheduled mayoral election is set for June 2026.
