NARRATIVE: A 2017 Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Highway 85 near mile
marker 180. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed over center, and went into the east
ditch. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on the ice of the Missouri River. Both
occupants of the vehicle were ejected. The driver, Crystal Kalligher, was pronounced deceased
on scene. The passenger, Matthew Donton, sustained minor injuries but was not transported
to the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
