MINOT – It was only fitting on “Senior Night” that Minot State’s seniors take over.
Getting all their goals from seniors, Sheldon Davis broke a scoreless tie early in the second period with his first of two goals, fellow senior Drew Carter added two more goals in the session, and Landyn Cochrane added an insurance goal in the third period as No. 1-ranked Minot State skated past No. 7-ranked Jamestown, 5-3 on Thursday night at the Maysa Arena.
The contest was the final regular-season game for both teams as each now head to Marlborough, Massachusetts next week for the ACHA National Tournament.
It also was the final home game for Minot State seniors Davis, Carter, Cochrane, and teammates Austin Wieler, Connor Navrot, Wayde Johanneson, Jake Bestul, Eric Soar, and Dalton Dosko.
Jake Anthony finished with 32 saves in goal for the Beavers.
