NARRATIVE: The Mercury Sable was traveling northbound on Hwy 1806 near mm 49 when it crossed the centerline into the lane of the southbound Ford F150. The Sable struck the front left bumper of the F150 with its front left corner causing the Sable to come to a rest in the east ditch facing east and the F150 to come to a rest in the west ditch facing east. The driver of the striking vehicle (Sable) was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the F150 was transported to Sanford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash which remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
