BISMARCK - The Minot State volleyball team held leads late in the first two sets, but couldn't finish off the host Mary Marauders, falling 25-23, 26-24, 25-13 Tuesday at McDowell Activity Center in NSIC action.
The loss dropped Minot State's record to 0-16 overall and 0-9 in NSIC play.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Beavers fell in a back-and-forth first set, losing 25-23 in a game that featured six lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than four points in the match. Minot State led 18-17 late in the set after a Taylor Wyatt kill.
SET 2 | A 26-24 set-two loss put Minot State in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Beavers came up short in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured five lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. Minot State had set-point but could not score the win, up 24-23 after a Mary service error.
SET 3 | Minot State could not win set three and was swept by Mary. The Beavers fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before falling in the set 25-13.
