The North Dakota Highway Patrol said that two women were injured in a rear end collision near Gwinner Saturday afternoon.
According to the NDHP, Amber Ramsey, 35, driving a car at the speed limit, hit the back of a pickup that Marlynn Zetocha, 69, was driving at a slow speed with hazard lights on in order to escort a tractor.
Ramsey, who was using her cell phone, did not recognize the speed of the pickup, and when she hit it, her car rolled into a ditch full of water. She was able to extricate herself from the vehicle before it filled with water. Zetocha’s vehicle remained in the roadway.
Both Ramsey and Zetocha were transported to the Oakes Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Ramsey was cited for failure to maintain control – distracted driving.
The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
