JAMESTOWN – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a patrol says a NDHP Trooper was conducting traffic control in the right lane of Interstate 94 eastbound by Jamestown on Jan. 5 at approximately 2:22 p.m., where a vehicle had struck the guardrail and was left unattended. NDDOT plows were working in the area and actively plowing the left lane east of the Trooper’s location and a second truck was stationed behind the squad car with all lights activated.
According to the NDHP, a passenger car and an SUV went around the parked plow and moved to the right lane to pass the second plow working in the left lane. The passenger car attempted to slow and was struck from behind by the SUV; the passenger car then struck the patrol vehicle. All vehicles were towed from the scene. Occupants of the striking SUV were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

The incident remains under investigation by the Jamestown Police Department.
