12:00 p.m., Nov. 9--Rep. Tveit, Sen. Janna Myrdahl, Travis Zablotney, and other citizens (many with backgrounds in the medical field) are skillfully fielding questions asked by the Joint Technical Corrections Committee. Not everyone who presents a bill or speaks in support for (or against) a bill is able to do that and comes prepared to do that.
The topic being brought up right now by the committee is the potential conflict with current ND law that allows pharmacists the right to refuse prescriptions even for off-label use. The examples being brought up currently by the committee are birth-control pills and abortion pills.
Those testifying for the bill are expressing most concern for the aspect of this bill that prevents medical professionals from having their license(s) challenged. The committee is also now asking questions about who is the primary provider for a medical provider's liability insurance.
