The City of Minot will offer a Ride Transit Free week from Aug. 14-18. During those
days, there will be no charge to use the City of Minot Transit buses.
“We haven’t done a free week since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but we’re
excited to again provide this service to our community,” said Brian Horinka,
Superintendent of Transit for the City of Minot. “It provides an opportunity for our
regular riders to use the system free for a week to show our appreciation for them,
but it also helps showcase the system for those who may be less familiar with what
the City of Minot transit system has to offer.”
During the Ride Transit Free week, the City buses will run their regular routes and
schedules.
Horinka said users of the system will notice new names for two of the City’s routes,
beginning next week. The North route will now be called the Northwest route, and
the South #2 route will become the Southeast route.
Horinka said the City will not be adding two new routes this year after not being
able to hire an additional driver. A new Southwest route serving the Trinity Hospital
area and a new North route serving the Erik Ramstad Middle School area will be
delayed until 2024.
