LAS VEGAS, Nev. – It’s been a patient and determined road, but former Minot State offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez is set to officially make his NFL debut.
The former Beaver and 2021 All-American was promoted by the Las Vegas Raiders from the team’s practice squad and will wear No. 70 when he makes his NFL debut for the Black and Silver at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Eve.
Gutierrez originally signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos in April then made it all the way until the team’s final cut before the opening of the NFL season in September.
Away from football briefly, the recent Minot State graduate who played in 42 games for the Beavers, signed in early October with the New England Patriot practice squad, returning to the NFL.
After a brief stint with the Patriots, Gutierrez signed with the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad on October 25 where he spent nearly two months until the team announced on Saturday, Dec. 17, that Gutierrez and fellow offensive lineman Jordan Meredith had been promoted from the practice squad and would be active for this coming weekend’s game at Pittsburg.
