Minor injury collision

**Update, 2:20 p.m., Dec. 29, 2:20 p.m., the NDHP says Jacob Peterson, 34, Grand Forks, was charged with failing to stop for approaching train and driving under suspension.**

NORTHWOOD—The North Dakota Highway Patrol says another train collided with a pickup Tuesday afternoon.

According to the NDHP, the pickup turned to cross the railroad tracks in Northwood and drove in front of the BNSF freight train at 3:35 p.m. The train struck the front right corner of the pickup, pushing it into the ditch.

The 34-year-old driver of the van was wearing a seatbelt and only suffered minor injuries. He was transported to Northwood Deaconess Health Center. No one on the train was injured.

Roads were covered with snow and ice at the time of the collision. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
