GRAND FORKS—The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a train collided with a delivery van Tuesday morning.
According to the NDHP, the delivery van was crossing the railroad tracks approximately two miles north of Grand Forks when it was stuck by a BNSF freight train around 11:30 a.m.
The 42-year-old driver of the van was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family. No one on the train was injured.
Roads were covered with snow at the time of the collision, and it was snowing. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
