Intro
And now it's time for a training camp today with Neil Roberts and the Minnesota Vikings.

Neil Roberts
This tight end is in his third NFL season. And after being let go midseason by Jacksonville, he signed up with the Vikings. Former Bison Ben Ellefson is now on the Vikings roster and in his first camp there. And Bison quarterback coach Randy Hedberg joins us. And Randy, I'm sure you saw Ben not only practice catching balls from your quarterbacks, but in big games as well.

Randy Hedberg
Yeah, Ben is a special player because I recruited him out of Holley, Minnesota, and so that goes back a few years. But Ben is a very strong, good athlete. I think he'll do well. If they want to throw him the ball, I think you'll catch him. But he will really excel blocking at the line of scrimmage. And I think that's one of the biggest attributes he can bring to the Vikings, but he can also catch the ball well. He can get open. So I think it's a really good fit for Ben with the Vikings.

Neil Roberts
All right. And we'll talk to another receiver when we come back.

Neil Roberts
We're with Randy Hedberg, Bison, quarterbacks, coach and Randy. The second round in the draft gets announced. The Packers and Vikings have made a trade and Christian Watson is still on the board. And I just shrunk because I knew what was coming. And sure enough, they picked Christian Watson with the Viking pick. Tell us your thoughts on Christian. He's one of the top receivers to come out of here, at least the highest drafted receiver to come out of here in a long time.

Randy Hedberg
Christian is an interesting prospect and the fact that he's six four and 210 and can run and he ran 4.63 at the combine. And I think the biggest thing that he has is the size and ability to block. And that's one thing at NDSU with our receivers. They'd probably learn how to block before they learn how to run routes, but he was able to stretch the defense for us. I think he will get better coming out of breaks and also being a real natural hand catcher. He'll get that as he progresses through professional football.

Neil Roberts
Great stuff, Randy, as always, thanks for that. And that brings this report to a close. Until next time, I'm Neil Roberts.
