The Dakotan:
And now it's time for Spring Fever with the Twins with Neil Roberts from Fort Myers, Florida.

Neil Roberts:
He was the Twins first round pick number 27 overall in the 2020 draft out of the University of North Carolina. First baseman Aaron Sabato joins us. And Aaron unique to guys your age and your career your sophomore season gets cut short in college due to the pandemic you get 100 games in last year. Tell us about the importance of patience and to stay positive.

Aaron Sabato:
Yeah, I mean I think it's just for everybody, you know, going through this pandemic with your family and everything. Like you guys stay positive. Everybody's been affected. You know, you will lose loved ones every day. So I think ultimately every day should just always be positive.

Neil Roberts:
You hit 19 homeruns last year in about 100 games between Fort Myers and Cedar Rapids. How well have you adjusted, I guess, and how happy are you continued with that power?

Aaron Sabato:
Yeah, I mean, obviously very happy. But staying there, I try to get better one day at a time. Be better than you were yesterday and just to be together.

Neil Roberts:
All right. Hey, we'll talk, though, going ahead when we come back.

Neil Roberts:
We're with Twins Prospect first baseman Aaron Sabato. And Aaron, how about the biggest adjustment from college to the pros in the minors?

Aaron Sabato:
It's an every day like seven days a week here in spring training on your feet, early mornings all the way through the day. You don't get here at 7:30 p.m. around 4:00, 4:15. And so I think it's just take care of your body, you know, eating right.

Neil Roberts:
Well, how about everyone's gravitating to your home run for sure. You get a lot of that inside your side or the couple autographs but all the first base bag looks like you're improving all the time. I just watched you doing a scrimmage game here. You look pretty comfortable out there. How would you say your defense is progressing?

Aaron Sabato:
I think it's progressing just every day your defense and just trying to get better, like I said, just one day at a time and stack the pieces together and just don't get too caught up in one day or one ground ball or one I bad one pitch.

Neil Roberts:
If you want that call up to happen to the bigs.

Aaron Sabato:
I mean, it's every kid you're going to be in the big leagues. But let's take it one day at a time. Try not to look too far into the future.

Neil Roberts:
All right. Hey, that's Aaron Sabato, everybody. That concludes this edition the next time. I'm Neil Roberts.
