Welcome to another edition of Ranching Issues. Our guest this week is North Dakota Stockman's Association District six member Kevin Hansen and Kevin WOTUS W O T U S has been in the news recently and it's a concern for the Stockman Association. Tell us the latest.
Kevin Hanson:
Well, it is, Neil, the effect of all this being on our cattle industry. And the stockman is association is significantly involved in this. We've had some high up meetings with the EPA regulators and congressional delegation to talk and visit about waters. Waters of the U.S. violates kind of the property and state rights of waters that are navigable, and it affects crop production. The transport ation, industry, businesses, infrastructure, and many realtors would also be affected by this program. So we need to really keep our eyes abreast of this and watch out for all this.

Talking WOTUS Today on ranching issues with Kevin Hansen. And Kevin, what can ranchers do to play a part?
Kevin Hanson:
Well, I think the involvement with all ag producers and in every segment of our industry is going to be very important with all this going forward, be involved in your associations, whether it be your crop production or your livestock associations and showing interest in this vote, this project, because we need to have some pushback on this in order to get it stopped. It's definitely something that will definitely affect our industry going forward negatively. So get involved.
