NARRATIVE: A 1996 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of
Highway 2 near mile marker 147 when it struck an eastbound 2008 Toyota Yaris head on.
Both vehicles sustained major front end damage. The Ford came to rest in the painted gore
area of the road and the Toyota came to rest in the turn lane. The driver of the Ford, James
Feeley, sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to
Trinity Hospital. The driver of the Toyota, Tyanna Weeks, sustained serious life threatening
injuries and was transported via ambulance to Trinity Hospital.
On scene investigation revealed that Feeley was under the influence of alcohol and in
possession of narcotics. Feeley was subsequently arrested for Criminal Vehicular Injury,
possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
