Where: Highway 1804 near mile marker 251, approximately 4 miles north of New Town, ND  

When: January 14, 2023 at approximately 0836 AM CST  

Road Conditions: Frost  

Weather Conditions: Cloudy  

Crash Involvement: Truck vs Semi  

Type of Crash: Angle  

Agencies Involved: North Dakota Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police Department, Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office, New Town Fire and Ambulance  

Vehicle No. 1: 2022, Ford F-150  

Driver No. 1: 34 year old female, Watford City, ND – Serious Injuries  

Restraints: Unknown  

Charges: Pending  

Vehicle No. 2: 2004 Kenworth Truck Tractor  

Driver No. 2: 31 year old male, New Town, ND – Uninjured  

Restraints: Seatbelt in Use  

Charges: None  

Narrative: The Ford was traveling eastbound on Highway 1804. The Ford crossed into the westbound lane of travel and struck a Kenworth that was traveling westbound. The Ford came to rest in the eastbound lane facing west. The driver of the Ford was ejected and suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Kenworth was not injured in the crash. The driver of the Ford was transported by ambulance to Trinity Health in Minot, ND.  

 The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
