Minoter Shares Her Story

MINOT – To many people in Minot, prayer is meaningful.

Donna Dahl grew up in Ozark, Alabama and moved to Minot in 2018. With a Bachelor of Arts degree, Dahl has experience in multimedia graphic designing. She has worked as a government contractor for the past 18 years.

“I love Minot,” Dahl expressed. “It reminds me of my small hometown where I grew up in the South…minus the snow!”

Dahl recounted her experience with prayer, where a young boy in her local Catholic church in Ozark was diagnosed with cancer:

“Mass began. One minute I was staring at the cross and the next, suddenly Jesus appeared and began to rise up above the cross and leaned forward reaching his arms out over the priest slowly moving his eyes scanning across the room looking at every person seated in their pew. Jesus then patiently followed each child with his eyes as they walked forward towards the altar. As the priest would place a sign of the cross on each child’s forehead, Jesus then blessed each child by blowing his breath upon them. Upon each breath, the room began to fill with a sweet rose smelling fragrance. Almost identical to smelling a fresh cut rose from a garden. When Jesus blew his breath upon the child with cancer, I knew instantly that he was healed. I held my mother’s hand tight as we both watched in awe as tears of joy streamed down our faces. A dove image appeared on the wall and remained there until mass was ended.”

Dahl shared how she became a strong believer in the power of prayer.

“It is important to understand that prayer helps you develop a relationship with God,” said Dahl. “Prayer provides for us a way to stay close to him. Having a relationship with God will give your life purpose and meaning. You must make the effort to know who God is through reading and studying his word in the Bible. If you are missing joy in your life, then plant seeds of joy everywhere you go. Tell everyone you see to have a blessed day. This one small act of kindness can have a world-wide rippling effect that can change a person’s life forever. Leave people better off than you found them. And most importantly, pray often and pray sincerely with your whole heart.”
