Electrical panel fire, no injuries

An electrical fire at Trinity Hospital caused the evacuation of the building’s third floor on Tuesday afternoon. The Minot Fire Department responded to Trinity Hospital at 1 Burdick Expressway West at 1:51 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a small explosion on the third floor with active smoke and fire. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and contained the fire to an electrical panel.

Evacuation of the third floor was conducted along with search and rescue efforts on the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors. All occupants exited the structure safely, and the property was turned over to Trinity’s building superintendent.

Three engines, one ladder truck, two command vehicles, and two support vehicles responded to the incident, with a total of 16 firefighters and five support staff.

The fire remains under investigation. There were no injuries reported.
