FATAL ROLLOVER CRASH NEAR WATFORD CITY  

What: Fatal Single Vehicle Rollover Crash  

Where: McKenzie County, 28th St., 5 miles east of Watford City 

 When: 6:00 AM Central Time  

Road Conditions: Dry, gravel road, good summer driving condition Weather Conditions: Mostly clear sky, 59 degrees, 5 mph winds  

Involvement: Pickup Type of Crash: Ran off road/rollover  

Agencies Involved: North Dakota Highway Patrol McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office McKenzie County Ambulance Service Watford City Fire Department  

Vehicle No. 1: Silver 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab  

Driver No. 1: Male, 24, Minot, ND DECEASED  

Restraints: Not in use  

Charges: None  

NARRATIVE: On 8/26/2022, at about 0600, a silver 2002 Dodge Ram was traveling west on 28th St NW in rural McKenzie County. The driver failed to negotiate a left curve and drove off the roadway to the right. The vehicle overturned in the north ditch, struck a fence, and came to rest in the ditch upright, facing east. The driver was ejected as the vehicle overturned. The driver was not wearing a seat belt. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. This crash is pending investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
