In Support of the County Commissioners,

I read Duane Brekke's letter to the editor on April 27, 2022 and felt a response was necessary.

I have lived in Minot for over ten years, in North Dakota for nearly twenty years of my adult life and having grown up on a Wyoming ranch west of Cheyenne ( the largest city in Wyoming). I think it is great that there are no commissioners from Minot. The people living in the city have enough representation through the city council. The County Commissioners represent the other residents of the county. Our City government makes decisions affecting those who reside outside of city limits and they have no representation and nor recourse. Why should their tax dollars go to rebuild downtown Minot? Why should EPIC get special privileges? Why should the people who are smart enough not to live in the city have to pay for the city's poor decisions? Don't they pay enough through their shopping here? The end does NOT justify the means.
