MINOT — Minot Police say they have made an arrest in the Anita Knutson investigation.

Knutson was an 18-year-old Minot State student who was murdered in her Northwest Minot apartment back in June 2007.

Chief of Police John Klug announced this afternoon at a press conference that police had taken Nichole Rice, 34, of Minot into custody. She had been Knutson's roommate at the time.

Rice is charged with murder, a Class AA felony.

Klug said, "It was a relief. It was good to know that finally the one case that we've had hanging out there, that we just could not get to a solution, was finally over."
