Injury DUI Crash

SHELDON — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a man survived three hours in minus 22 degree temperature after his vehicle rolled.

According to the NDHP, Jesse Schultz, 25, Enderlin, was traveling on Highway 54 at around 2 a.m. Thursday when he drifted off the road, overcorrected, and rolled the vehicle a mile north of Sheldon. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected.

Schultz laid in the ditch for approximately three hours until a passerby found him. Schultz was transported by Lisbon Ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo with serious injuries from the crash and exposure. He remains in unstable condition.

Schultz was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol by the NDHP. The crash remains under investigation.
