Additional sidewalk to improve safety

MINOT — The 2022 Edison Safe Routes to School project completed its bid phase and is now scheduled to add an additional sidewalk, curb ramps, and driveways near Edison Elementary School to increase the safety of pedestrians.

The Minot City Council agreed at Tuesday’s meeting to hire Ti-Zack Concrete Inc., a company based in Minnesota. Their bid amount was $1,038,915 followed by the bid of local Keller Paving and Landscaping Inc. at $1,056,581.

Starting from Edison Elementary School, the project will run along 17th Street Southwest and end at 16th Avenue Southwest.

“Depending on weather, construction is scheduled for late spring/early summer and will take about two months to complete,” said City Engineer Lance Meyer.
